The Wild Life, Mud Baths, and Riu Palace in Costa Rica

A slideshow of photos from our trip to Costa Rica in March 2016.

We stayed at the all-inclusive Riu Palace on the Pacific side of Costa Rica. This beach-side resort is next to the Riu Guanacaste not far from Playa del Coco and Liberia, Costa Rica.

During early morning walks on the beach at the Riu Palace, you can find a variety of tour vendors, birds, small animals, and Howler monkeys.

We also took several tours with Maleku Tours (www.malekutours.com) during our stay. These private tours were to the base of the Miravalles Volcano, where we went horseback riding, took a short hike into the rain forest, and saw several waterfalls. Later we tried out the volcanic mud baths and hot springs. The next day we took a Maleku tour to the Palo Verde National Park. Here we took a boat tour and saw a variety of animals and birds. A real treat were the white-faced moneys that jumped on our boat!
