England fans outside the Estádio Mineirão in Belo Horizonte told The Telegraph’s Gordon Rayner of their disappointment at the performance of Roy Hodgson’s side against Costa Rica. The match was the last of England’s 2014 World Cup campaign.
The match ended in a goalles draw, despite encouraging performances from some players, including Ross Barkley and Jack Wilshere.
One fan described England as “lacking ideas”, another complained that the team “didn’t penetrate enough.” But one supporter said it had been good to see the team “show a bit more of an effort.”
